Buying with confidence
First perfume buying tips for people who like mild scents
If you prefer mild scents, tell the seller what feels too much and test presence before buying. Terms such as fresh, clean or delicate describe impressions but do not independently establish low projection.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Make mild a clear buying requirement
Specify whether you mean a softer smell, lower sweetness or less noticeability around others. Those differences change the shortlist and prevent a recommendation based only on a vague label.
Read presence claims carefully
A concentration percentage or note list does not predict your exact experience. Look for useful descriptions, but verify through wear. A sample atomizer and a full bottle may also apply different amounts per spray.
Avoid compensating for a bad match
If a sample is too prominent even with restrained application, keep exploring. Do not buy a large bottle on the assumption you will eventually prefer a stronger fragrance. Mild is a valid preference, not a beginner stage to outgrow.
Try this before you buy
When requesting advice, name one scent that felt too prominent and describe exactly what bothered you.
