How many perfumes do I need
You do not need a collection to enjoy perfume. One fragrance can be enough if you like it in your usual settings. Add another only when you can name a specific need your current choice does not cover.

If you wear fragrance occasionally, one well-chosen bottle may cover you for a long time. If you wear it daily in very different settings, a quieter daytime option and another evening choice might be useful. Neither arrangement is a rule.
Distinguish variety from duplication
Two fragrances that feel almost identical may add less variety than a few contrasting samples. Before buying another bottle, explain what it contributes: a different mood, occasion or scent direction.
Let usage guide the next purchase
Notice what you reach for over several weeks. A wish list can grow faster than your use. Sampling a new direction is a smaller commitment than buying another large bottle simply because your collection looks incomplete.
