Day-long trials
How to test woody perfumes through the day
Test woody perfumes by following texture, later presence and enjoyment rather than assuming all woods behave alike. A smooth or dry close-range character is a different observation from a noticeable scent around the wearer.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Choose texture words
Start with smooth, dry, smoky or another impression you notice. A list of wood notes is not a measurement of their quantities.
Keep the trial identifiable
Use one candidate at a time and save the exact name and application method. Avoid turning equal spray counts from different atomizers into an equal-dose claim.
Assess the later balance
Record whether the wood character remains enjoyable and suits your occasion. A long trace is not automatically preferable to a quieter experience.
Try this before you buy
Record wood texture and later comfort during an ordinary repeat wear before comparing another woody candidate.
