Getting started
Perfume blind buying mistakes
The main blind-buying mistakes are confusing product identity, trusting a first impression you have never experienced and making a large commitment because of a discount. If you cannot sample, acknowledge the uncertainty and keep the purchase manageable.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Buying a reputation instead of a scent
A popular ranking, attractive bottle or familiar inspiration may create interest without telling you whether you like the smell. Translate recommendations into descriptive qualities and check whether those qualities match your preferences.
Ignoring version and format
A similar name may refer to a different concentration, version or brand. Sample sets, tester bottles and inspired products are not interchangeable. Confirm the exact product and millilitres in the order summary.
Using the discount as the deadline
A promotion is not a reason to buy a larger bottle than you want. Read delivery and return terms, compare your complete cost and be willing to wait. Sampling can be a better next step than trying to make a large uncertain order feel like a bargain.
Try this before you buy
Before a blind buy, write what you know from evidence and what you are only assuming.
