Getting started
Should I buy samples before a full bottle
Samples are useful when the fragrance is new to you, your preferences are uncertain or the bottle would be a meaningful commitment. They are less necessary when you already know and regularly wear the exact fragrance you are repurchasing.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Decide what uncertainty you are buying down
A sample can help answer whether you enjoy the scent, like the later development and want to wear it again. It cannot guarantee that you will never change your taste. Choose samples for questions you actually need to resolve.
Plan the comparison
Give each candidate a separate wear and record the name. Retest the strongest favorites rather than trying every sample once and making an immediate bottle decision. Keep the comparison focused on your own routine.
Consider the total cost
Sampling adds an upfront cost, so compare it with the commitment you are considering. Check the actual kit contents and price. Do not assume the sample purchase includes a later discount or full-bottle credit unless the seller explicitly offers one.
Try this before you buy
Ask: have I worn this exact fragrance before, and can I confidently choose it again?
