Performance basics
Why can I not smell my own perfume
Reduced awareness of your own perfume can reflect changing perception as well as a changing fragrance. It does not by itself prove the perfume has disappeared, and a single wearing observation cannot establish one exact cause.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Notice the limits of self-checking
Repeatedly checking the same scent is not a neutral measurement. Take ordinary breaks from deliberate smelling rather than assuming every quieter impression requires more perfume.
Compare observations carefully
If useful and welcome, ask a willing person whether the scent is noticeable in an appropriate setting. Their response is another observation, not a universal performance measurement.
Keep the test simple
Record the exact product and application without adding another fragrance. A repeat trial gives clearer information than several immediate top-ups.
Try this before you buy
Write what you and a willing observer notice separately before deciding that a perfume is absent.
