Getting started
How to buy perfume online without smelling it
Reduce uncertainty by translating preferences into a shortlist, checking the exact product identity and ordering samples where available. Notes and reviews can guide you, but they cannot reproduce the finished smell online.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Use familiar reference points
List fragrances or everyday smells you enjoy and dislike. Describe the quality you like: citrus freshness, dry wood, soft flowers or dessert sweetness. A seller can work with those details more easily than a request for something nice.
Read beyond the headline
Check the size, notes, brand identity and later scent description. Reviews are most useful when they explain preferences and conditions, rather than making unexplained claims of perfection. Watch for descriptions that confuse an inspired product with its reference.
Make the first order a test
If samples are available, compare them before choosing a larger bottle. If you buy without testing, choose a commitment you can accept and read the return policy first. An opened fragrance may have different return conditions from an unused one.
Try this before you buy
Make a shortlist with one reason to try each option and one uncertainty you still need to resolve.
