Getting started
How to know which perfume suits me
A perfume suits you when you enjoy it through the wear, feel comfortable using it in your usual surroundings and would choose it again. Gender labels, personality quizzes and other people's favorites are starting points, not a verdict.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Separate preference from performance
You can love a scent but want a quieter presence, or admire its lasting power while disliking the smell. Write those observations separately. Otherwise a strong first impression can hide what actually matters to you.
Use your ordinary routine
Try the fragrance on a day that resembles how you plan to use it. Note whether it remains comfortable at your desk, during travel and later in the day. Do not make the decision entirely from a shop's paper strip.
Use feedback carefully
Someone else's reaction can help you understand how noticeable it is, but it cannot decide whether you enjoy wearing it. Compliments are occasional feedback, not a dependable product feature.
Try this before you buy
Rate enjoyment and comfort separately after the first impression and later in the day.
