Understanding perfume
What is a skin scent
Skin scent usually means a fragrance perceived close to the wearer, or a style described as skin-like. It is not a standardized strength rating and does not mean the perfume contains no scent or is suitable for every shared space.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Distinguish style from distance
A skin-like smell and a fragrance noticed mainly at close range are related descriptions, but not the same measurement. Ask which meaning a review or product description intends.
Do not judge only by self-perception
Not noticing your own perfume is not proof that others cannot detect it. Avoid repeated application simply because your awareness of the scent has changed.
Check the intended setting
Workplace rules and personal comfort still apply. Sample candidates with a close-range brief rather than assuming every musky or minimal description will fit it.
Try this before you buy
Write whether you want a skin-like character, a quieter presence or both before choosing a candidate.
