Performance basics
Why is my perfume strong at first then gone
A strong opening followed by a quieter impression can involve normal development, reduced surrounding presence or changed awareness. It does not automatically mean that every part of the perfume has disappeared or that the bottle is faulty.
A HUME Fragrance buying guide

Describe what seems gone
Distinguish lost opening brightness from absent close-range scent. The notes emphasized later may feel different enough that a familiar opening is no longer recognizable.
Pause constant checking
Repeated deliberate smelling is not a neutral measurement. Take ordinary breaks and keep your observations separate from any willing observer's feedback.
Avoid immediate top-ups
Follow directions and assess the actual setting before adding more. A repeat trial provides clearer information than combining several new applications at once.
Try this before you buy
Record the opening, later character and close-range impression before concluding that the fragrance is entirely gone.
